Chocolate pop-it

Ok, so this one is not covered with fondant nor modeling chocolate, but I had to give it its own space here. It’s a 2-tier chocolate cake covered with tempered chocolate all around it. The model is of a popular kids toy these days – pop-it. It’s a sort of a silicone pad with bubbles all over that you can pop endlessly. My nieces & nephews collect them for fun, they come in a variety of colors & sizes. For Amal’s birthday, I made this pop-it inspired cake from dark chocolate around the 1^st tier, milk chocolate around the 2^nd tier & a heart shaped ruby chocolate pop-it on top. I used the silicone toy as a mold to create these. The kids were ecstatic and ate more of the chocolatey pop-it bits than the cake itself.

טוב, העוגה הזו לא עטופה בבצק סוכר ולא בשוקולד פיסולי, אבל הייתי חייב לתת לה מקום משלה כאן. זו עוגת 2 קומות מעוטרת בשוקולד מטומפרר מכל כיוון. המודל הוא של צעצוע פופולרי בקרב הילדים של היום – פופ-איט. זה מעין משטח מסיליקון מלא בועות שניתן לפצפץ בלי סוף. האחיינים שלי אוספים אותם ולכל אחד ואחת יש אוסף צבעוני משל עצמם, במיוחד שהם מגיעים בכל מיני צבעים וגדלים. ליום הולדת של אמאל, הכנתי את העוגה הזו בהשראת הצעצוע משוקולד מריר בקומה הראשונה, שוקולד חלב בקומה השנייה ופופ-איט בצורת לב משוקולד רובי מעל העוגה. השתמשתי בצעצוע עצמו ככלי ליצירת הקישוט. הילדים נורא התלהבו מהעוגה ואכלו את כל קישוטי השוקולד יותר מאשר העוגה עצמה.
